The following are snippets of a conversation I had with an Egyptian man who lives in International house.

Egyptian: You ever been to Egypt.
Me: no. I would love to go some day.
Egyptian: it is a wonderful country. You should go when you are 25 and married.
Me: ummm.

Egyptian: because you are very pretty you should not go out at night.
Me: I know.
Egyptian: you should not go out at night ever!
Me: ummm, too late.
